Privacy Policy
We keep as little about you as we can. This page explains what we do keep, why, for how long, and how to ask us to remove it.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
The short version
- You can use the tools without an account. Signing up needs a username, an email address and a password.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
- Files you download are deleted automatically: download files after about 30 minutes, split clips after 72 hours.
- Your password is stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read it.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time (see “Your choices”).
Who we are
Toolskits (“we”, “us”) runs this website and its tools. You can reach us with the details at the end of this page.
What we collect, and why
If you create an account
Your username, email address, a salted one-way hash of your password, your plan, the date you joined, and counters of how much you have downloaded in the current 24-hour window. We use these to sign you in, apply your plan’s limits, and contact you about your account if needed.
If you use the tools without an account
To apply the daily limits we keep a counter under a keyed, irreversible hash of your network address (not the address itself). Counters are deleted automatically after 3 days. After the human check you also receive a small “pass” cookie, valid for about two hours.
When you download or cut a video
We process the link or video you ask for, the quality you choose, and the resulting file. Download files are removed after about 30 minutes and split clips after 72 hours. Our server logs record technical events (for example the quality requested, timing and errors) and may include an internal account identifier. We also keep totals such as the number of downloads and the amount of data served, to run and improve the service.
When you send us a message or a tool request
A tool request contains the name and description you write and, if you choose, an email address or Telegram username so we can reply. If you message our Telegram support bot, we receive your Telegram user ID, display name, username and the messages you send. We use these only to answer you and to decide what to build.
Our web servers
Like every website, our web server and Cloudflare handle your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use this to deliver the site, keep it secure and find faults, and we keep these logs only for a limited time.
Cookies and storage on your device
- ytdl_session: keeps you signed in (up to 30 days). Strictly necessary.
- ytdl_guest: remembers that you passed the human check (about 2 hours). Strictly necessary.
- Local storage: your language, light or dark theme, recent searches and whether the download tray is open. These stay on your device.
We do not set advertising or analytics cookies.
Services that help us run the site
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it. Its Turnstile check runs in your browser to tell people from bots and receives your IP address and browser signals. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Telegram is used for our support bot, and for alerts and reports that we send to ourselves. Messages you send to the bot are processed by Telegram under its own policy.
- YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. When you ask for a video, our server requests it from that site on your behalf. They see our server, not you. If you use the Local helper, your own computer makes the request instead.
- Our hosting provider runs the server that stores the data described here.
The Local helper
The optional helper program runs on your computer and downloads directly to it. The website and the helper talk through our relay, which passes your requests (such as the video link) between them. The size of a finished download is reported to us so your daily allowance stays accurate.
Banners
Some pages show banners that we place ourselves. We do not use third-party ad networks that track you.
How long we keep things
- Download files: about 30 minutes. Split clips: 72 hours.
- Visitor counters: 3 days.
- Account data: until you ask us to delete the account.
- Tool requests and support messages: for as long as they are useful to us, then deleted.
- Server logs: a limited time, for security and troubleshooting.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and its data. Write to us using the contact details below and tell us the username or email you used. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time; you will be signed out.
Security
The site uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to the server is limited to us. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not use elsewhere.
Children
The tools are not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Respect for content owners
Please download only content you own, that is in the public domain, or that you have permission to save.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for important changes we will say so on the site.
